Set in a superb carved and gilded wooden frame, the front panel is carved from a single piece with original gilding, containing an oil-on-canvas painting of the “Virgin and Child” with gilded halos; well-painted, possibly Orthodox, on a blue background; some areas of missing paint; early 18th century.
