Silver Brooch, Geometric Shape, Openwork, Faceted Glass Cabochon, Marcasite, 1930, Art Deco.
Solid silver brooch, hallmarked 800°/°° with the “Sanglier” mark (Paris), featuring a geometric shape and finely openwork design, entirely paved with natural, faceted marcasite set in a grain setting, finished with a beaded frieze, with each end set in a beaded closed setting, a triangular carnelian-colored glass paste cabochon, with a large round faceted black glass cabochon set in a beaded closed setting at the center, a secure pump clasp, and the words “Made in France” inscribed on the back—perhaps to showcase our craftsmanship for export, this brooch, of rare chic and elegance, perfectly embodies the Art Deco era in all its splendor; crafted in Paris circa 1925–30; gross weight 8.9 grams; note: the central cabochon is slightly off-center from the original, though very discreet.
