Large Louis XV-style Desk
Large Louis XV-style writing desk in marquetry, early 20th century. The top is framed by a
gilded bronze mold with floral-decorated spandrels; the original havana-colored leather is wheel-carved and shows
signs of wear. The four curved legs are adorned with gilded bronze figures of women. There are three
drawers along the base. The visitor’s side features faux drawers. The legs are topped with gilded bronze
lion’s paw-shaped finials.
DIMENSIONS: 1.82 m x 1.02 m, 0.80 m high. Height under the central drawer: 0.645 m.
