Large pewter dish, circa 1600, signed on the reverse "Franciscus Briot" with his medallion, and signed "I.H." on the wing; shows signs of wear and has old holes; this is an early proof; there is a copy in the Ecouen Museum and at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. He is the most renowned engraver and modeler of shaped pewter pieces from the late Renaissance.
