Louis Majorelle Art Nouveau Cabinet
A lovely cabinet with an asymmetrical design, crafted from mahogany and satin-finished mahogany veneer. It opens with a door featuring a marquetry design of wheat ears and a poppy on a rustic ash background, four niches, and a compartmentalized shelf for storing sheet music. The upper shelf on the right side is rounded and overhanging; it is supported by a spiral-carved upright. The sides are openwork and feature carved columns; the lower section has a slanted crossbar with scroll-cut details. Original gilt-bronze keystone, hot-stamped mark, beautiful waxed finish.
