The plates are in generally good condition, with well-preserved silver plating. They show only a few very slight traces of use, normal given their age.

History

• The company was founded in Lyon at the end of the XIXᵉ century by Henri Bouillet.
• In 1919, Laurent Bouillet joined forces with chiseler Bourdelle, giving birth to the Bouillet & Bourdelle brand.
• From 1924, the company moved to Villeurbanne, near Lyon, and developed a major production of table and cutlery goldsmiths.
• It became the owner of the Cailar-Bayard cutlery factory and enjoyed great success during the Art Deco period.

Reputation

• Bouillet Bourdelle is considered one of the important French silversmiths of the interwar period, with numerous Art Deco creations.
• The house notably made cutlery for the Concorde, which contributed to its fame
