Antique Restoration-period liqueur cellar made of flamed mahogany.
Workmanship characteristic of the 1820s-1840s.
Cut-crystal interior including four canted decanters as well as a series of matching tumblers.
This liqueur cellar is distinguished above all by the presence of two secret compartments designed for cigar storage. Concealed beneath the side glass racks, these hiding places testify to the refinement of 19th-century travel and reception objects, where the pleasures of liquor tasting were combined with those of cigar smoking.
The mahogany has a beautiful old patina and a particularly decorative veining.
