Pair Of Louis XV Carved Wood Transoms
Elegant pair of Louis XV-style carved oak paneled transoms, dating from the late XIXᵉ century.
These remarkable decorative elements feature a rich rocaille décor of finely carved shells, vegetal scrolls and acanthus leaves. Their flowing form and generous proportions testify to the expertise of French decorative joinery workshops of the Napoleon III period.
Stripped to restore the natural appearance of the oak, these woodwork pieces now reveal the full quality of their carving and the wood grain.
Initially designed as transoms above doors or as part of a wall panelling ensemble, they can now be reused in a multitude of ways: monumental wall decoration, headboards, restaurant, hotel, boutique or interior architecture project cladding.
Their decorative presence and elegance make them ideal pieces for adding character to a classic or contemporary interior.
