Paperweight on a background of quartz sand and yellow and green glass powder, with a green snake resting on it.
The snake was finished using a torch from a pre-prepared glass rod.
The paperweight is covered with a clear crystal dome.
Paperweights featuring reptiles are very rare.
The production of naturalistic motifs requires great skill from the glassmaker.
Limited edition no. 46/300, dated 1979.
Signed with the BACCARAT France stamp and a signature in the shape of a berlingot (a type of small, decorative box) inside the paperweight.
