Empire Mahogany And Flamed Mahogany Veneer Chest Of Drawers, XIXᵉ Century Period.
Empire mahogany and flamed mahogany veneer chest of drawers, XIXᵉ century.
This elegant chest of drawers opens at the front with three wide, crossbarless drawers, offering superb mahogany veneer decoration arranged in a mirror-like fashion. The deep, shimmering veining adds a touch of refinement.
The uprights are embellished with detached columns typical of the Empire style, topped with finely chased ormolu capitals and bases. The front is highlighted by original ormolu circular pull knobs.
The top is topped with antique dark gray marble, contrasting elegantly with the warmth of the mahogany.
Very fine cabinetmaking for this harmoniously proportioned piece of furniture, at once sober, powerful and decorative.
