Glassmaking has always been a field where popular fantasy finds poetic expression.
This large flask, traditionally shaped in Norway and called kluk kluk (probably by onomatopoeia, describing the sound the liquid makes when poured) is blown with a cane by the master glassmaker, and pinched to give it this rather practical shape for holding.
It was then decorated with charming countryside scenes.
The shape was taken up again in the more Nordic-designing 70s, and still continues to be imitated.
This one, which is not common, a model from the !840s, the features of the rather complex decoration attest to this.
A blown-glass stopper is missing, and won't be too difficult to find, the model being common.
The bottle is in perfect condition.
