A Pair Of Antique Louis Philippe Mirrors
A pair of large antique mirrors in carved and gilded wood, dating primarily from the second half of the 19th century. The decorative details include a striking openwork cornice topped by a medallion or stylized torch motif, flanked by rich leaf-shaped volutes and asymmetrical plant motifs inspired by the Neo-Baroque style or associated with the Neapolitan Louis Philippe style. The lower part of the frame features characteristic shaped feet or “orecchiette.”
