Henin & Cie - Iris Art Nouveau Model - 6 Silver Fish Cutlery Sets, Minerve 1st Title

Very fine suite of 6 fish knives and 6 fish forks in solid Minerve 1er titre silver (950/1000) from the famous goldsmiths Hénin & Cie (hallmark inscribed in 1896).

Superb Art nouveau model dating from circa 1900-1910, featuring an elegant naturalistic decoration of stylized irises in relief, with finely openwork handles and stems offering remarkable repercé and chasing work, particularly refined.

Each piece bears a Minerve 1st title hallmark (950/1000).

Note that the master hallmarks are now partially effaced.
However, the attribution remains perfectly identifiable thanks to the model itself, which can be found reproduced several times in David Allan's reference work:"Le couvert et la coutellerie de table française du XIXe siècle", particularly page 136.
