Set Of 8 Maison Odiot Large Table Knives, Grimaldi Model, With Stag Coat Of Arms
They are marked with the famous Parisian goldsmith's house Odiot, still in business.
These knives have their original steel blades, they have been sharpened and polished recently by a professional but there are still spots of oxidation as visible on the photos.
The handles bear coats of arms with stags bearing a stag coat of arms and surmounted by a crown obviously of a count.
The model of these knives is "Grimaldi" which is one of the emblematic models of the Odiot house.
This model is listed in David Allan's book:
"Le couvert & la coutellerie de la table Française du XIXème
Smith's hallmark of Edouard CORVASIER ( 1863-1880) Parisian cutlery subcontractor to Odiot.
