19th-century French Conversation Armchair, Upholstered
French conversation smoking chair from the second half of the 1800s, in the Louis Philippe style, made of mahogany. It features a slender shape that widens toward the top. The upper section is topped by a padded crossbar upholstered in fabric, finished along the lower edge with a row of decorative metal studs. At the center of the backrest stands out an elegant openwork carved wooden panel featuring sinuous scroll motifs that create a play of mirror-image curves.
