Combination chest of drawers forming a dressing table and writing table in inlaid wood after a
model by Jean-François Leleu (1729-1807) in the Transition style. Beautiful ormolu ornamentation. This rectangular piece of furniture, whose top slides back to reveal a writing
top sheathed in tan leather, features two large side drawers that can slide
to the front, these drawers are fitted with a lid and the interiors are upholstered in beige
damask fabric. The writing tablet opens to reveal a dressing table with mirror.
This multi-function piece of furniture is in very good condition. The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., owns a copy of this piece of furniture, which
dates from the 18th century.
