The top is open butterfly-winged : the 2 sides are symmetrical, as are the flaps
Each piece is made of a single plank
This is very rare given the table's diameter
The flaps are supported by 2 curved wooden brackets that swivel

There are 6 Jacob legs of superb workmanship
The whole is supported by large bronze shoes and the original castors
The slides are original wide-section oak which gives great stability to the whole
