Biography
In 1881, Georges and Constantin Potheau took over the business of Charmois et Lemarinier and formed Potheau Frères at 21, rue duFaubourg-Saint-Antoine in Paris. They became famous for theirsimple yet rich furnishings. Noted at the Exposition UniverselleExposition Universelle in Paris in 1889, where they won a silver medalfor a superb carved mantelpiece. In 1894, only Constantin remained in business.All bronze handles are signed.
