Porcelain Tea (or Tobacco) Container From The 1800s
Subject (Bird of Paradise): The central panel depicts an exotic bird with vibrant plumage (green, yellow, and red) perched on a flowering branch. This motif is classic of Famiglia Rose-style porcelain or of 18th-century Meissen and Doccia productions.
Geometric and Floral Borders: The scene is framed by a double row of "leaf" or "herringbone" motifs in shades of purple and green, with small red flowers at the corners. The base features a decorative lattice (or "ferratella") band in orange-pink hues.
The Lid: It echoes the motifs of the main body, with a floral garland and a white apical knob, finished with thin gold lines.
