Pair Of Vases: Théodore Legras
A pair of truncated cone-shaped vases in multi-layered glass, characteristic of François-Théodore Legras' famous production.
These pieces feature an extremely fine, rotating decoration, entirely painted in relief enamel. The sylvan landscape depicts a seaside or lakeside pine forest, evoking the gentleness of Mediterranean landscapes.
The decoration depicts maritime pines in the foreground standing out against a background of hills and bodies of water.
The colors combine a background gradient from a luminous opaline yellow to a warm, vibrant orange, simulating a sunset. The details of the trees and ground are treated in shades of dark brown, khaki green and black to give superb depth and a striking backlight effect.
In the enamel decoration, the signature "Legras" can be distinguished on each vase. The two signatures are matched in pairs.
The set is in good condition, with no chips to report.
