Antoine Cronier 1732 - after 1806Antoine Crosnier, or Cronier, was one of the most important Parisian watchmakers of the second half of the 18th century. Son of a Parisian master carpenter, he registered his letters of mastery on March 1, 1763, and set up his workshop on rue Saint-Honoré. He was an instant hit with Parisian luxury watchmaking enthusiasts, and collaborated with the finest craftsmen of the day, including cabinetmaker Jean-Pierre Latz, bronze-makers François Vion and the Osmonds, and gilder Honoré Noël. In the 18th century, some of his creations were mentioned by the Maréchal de Choiseul-Stainville, the Marquis de Sainte-Amaranthe, the Duc des Deux-Ponts and Prince Belosselsky-Belozersky.
