Sculpture Of Saint Anthony Of Padua - Carved Wood - Early 19th Century
Artist: Anonyme
Wooden sculpture, painted, representing Saint Bruno (initially confused with Saint Anthony of Padua...), founder of the Chartreux. Recognizable by the strip of fabric that connects on the side its scrapbook, as well as by its white tunic. Note here the fine treatment of the face, both through sculpture and painting. General polychromy. Uncleaned patina. Lack on the left thumb as well as most likely on the left foot.
