Einar Johansen was an influential Danish ceramist whose work played a central role in the Danish modernist movement of the 20th century. He is best known for his long collaboration with the famous Soholm factory, located on the island of Bornholm.
His most famous work for Soholm is the "Blue Series", characterized by deep cobalt blue glazes on a dark brown base. Textures: many of his creations feature raised patterns, such as geometric shapes or abstract solar motifs.
His table lamps are currently highly sought-after by collectors, often featuring rich "flowing glazes" or sculptural forms.
