Horned Hare ( Lepus Cornutus )
418 The horned hare, Wolpertinger in Bavaria, Rauracki in Austria, or Jackalope in the United States, are among the many hybrid animals described in literature as early as the 13th century, similar to other animals such as the unicorn. (Narwhal tusk) Our Bavarian specimen is a trophy presented to a hunter who killed his thousandth horned hare in 1931 in Deesen, Germany, engraved on the base of a 19th-century stag antler.
