Suite Of 12 Solid Silver And Vermeil Hunting Name Tags, Florence 20th Century
Set of twelve patinated and partially vermeiled silver table nameplates with hunting decor, made by FABBRICA ARGENTERIA FIORENTINA di BARTOLINI BARTOLOZZI & C. S.A.S., Florence, circa 1960.
Each subject represents a hunting or undergrowth animal, treated with precise, animated naturalism: pheasants, partridges, ducks, hares, squirrels, foxes, wild boars or even pointing dogs. The figures, finely chased and gilded with fine gold, stand out against bases featuring patinated silver stumps, creating a particularly decorative contrast.
This set is part of the Florentine production of the post-war period, characterized by a marked taste for animal subjects and material effects, in a spirit that is both elegant and evocative of the world of hunting and the reception table.
