But during the 1978 US Open, one of the first tv broadcasted live tennis match, the famous player Chris Evert lost her bracelet When she realized it was missing, she asked for the match to be interrupted so she could look for it. This is how the name of the legendary « Tennis Bracelet » was born. Soon after, during the 80s it was De Beers that popularized that new nickname.
