Rue de la Paix – PARIS
Louis Gradé owned a factory and shops selling art and novelty objects, and made furniture in the Boulle style and in rosewood, inlaid with porcelain. He established his business at 9 rue Castex in 1852, and at 23 rue de la Paix in 1856. In 1860, he was listed at both addresses, one probably being the workshop and the other the shop. He received an honorable mention at the 1852 London Universal Exhibition for an inlaid table. From 1866, the company name became Louis GRADE and PELCOT, but retained the same addresses…
All locks and hinges are chased with acanthus leaf decoration.

Magnificent cut crystal interior with foliage decoration, including:
– 4 identical decanters
– 16 identical glasses
Crystal in perfect condition, Napoleon III period,
1 rosewood drawer
It is fitted with brass and leatherloops to hold fruit spoons (for fruit in brandy).
6 gilt metal spoons in perfect condition.
