Alexis Hinsberger (1907-1996) was a French artist of Spanish origin, born in Cartagena and active in Paris. Trained in Barcelona, he moved to France in 1937, where he pursued a multi-faceted career as a painter, draughtsman, engraver and sculptor.
Marked by Spanish pictorial traditions, notably Velázquez and Goya, as well as Rembrandt, his work is in an expressionist vein with Baroque accents. In the 1970s, he developed a production of sculptures in pâte de verre in collaboration with the Daum crystal works, testifying to his interest in matter and light.
He exhibits in France and abroad.
He exhibits in France and internationally, while pursuing an artistic teaching activity in the Paris region.
