Background and modelIssued by Baccarat in the second half of the twentieth century, the Armagnac model is in the tradition of short-stem services adorned with tailles inherited from the nineteenth century. The tripartite structure of the stem evokes the molded profiles of the Second Empire, while adopting the clean lines characteristic of post-war production. The diamond-point motif, executed with great regularity, continues a decorative vocabulary developed by the crystal-maker as early as the 1840s.
