Gilded Wood Living Room

We are pleased to present this magnificent complete living room set, consisting of a large three-seater sofa with "cabriolet" back and a pair of matching armchairs.

This exquisitely crafted furniture perfectly illustrates the refinement of the Louis XV style with its graceful lines and delicate carving. The fully gilded woods are adorned with rocaille motifs, stylized flowers and foliage running along the waistband, crosspieces and arched legs. The carvings are edgy and elegant, testifying to meticulous cabinetmaking. The backrests are curved and enveloping for optimum comfort, ending in a central summit sculpture.

The Upholstery:

The ensemble is covered in sumptuous cream (or ivory) silk damask fabric. The damask pattern, typical of the 18th century, features tone-on-tone floral and vegetal compositions that play with the light, bringing undeniable brilliance and sophistication to the furniture. The fabric appears to be in good overall condition, with silky highlights that magnify the gilding. The upholstery is firm and the upholstery has been done in the traditional way
