Weber Casewood Console Louis XVI Period
Mahogany wood console table with rounded corners, supported by four curved fluted legs, with inter-leg tray. Top band with one drawer and compartments in the corners . The console is topped with gray-veined white marble. There are three cracks on the marble, but they do not weaken the whole. The perimeter is embellished with an openwork brass gallery and bronze ornamentation such as handles, escutcheons, rings and sabots. This console is in perfect condition with a stamped varnish finish. It is stamped on the rear upright J. V. Weber for Jean Wendelin Weber, received Maitre ébéniste on July 20, 1786.
