Silver Enamelled Egg, Fabergé-style, Signed

Provenance
Decorative egg executed in the manner of Imperial Russian Fabergé productions, inspired by the luxury objects created for the Romanov court at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The piece bears a visible hallmark on the inner rim, indicating silver manufacture, likely Central or Eastern European, continuing this prestigious decorative tradition.

Description
This refined decorative egg features a classic ovoid form, set on an elegant and detachable tripod stand of elaborate design. The surface is entirely adorned with a geometric and heraldic composition in translucent red guilloché enamel, punctuated with white enamel reserves forming a structured ornamental network. Each panel is framed with gilded filigree lines and enriched with symbolic motifs, notably the Imperial double-headed eagle, accented with a green stone suggestive of an emerald. The lid, topped with a stylized finial, opens into two halves, revealing a carefully enamelled interior in a deep violet tone. The stand is openworked, composed of scrolling elements, garlands and crown motifs, adding sculptural depth and decorative balance to the ensemble. Total weight – 385 g.

Technique and materials
Partially gilt silver, guilloché enamel and cloisonné enamel, with stone inlays (likely hardstone or colored glass imitating emeralds). High-quality craftsmanship with fine detailing and precise enamel application. The stand is chased and worked in relief.

Dating
Early 20th century. The stylistic vocabulary, guilloché enamel technique and Imperial Russian iconography support a production shortly after the height of Fabergé workshops, within a historicist revival context.

Condition
Very good overall condition. The enamel remains well preserved with minor age-related wear. Structurally sound, with a functional hinge. Silver shows a consistent natural patina.

Function and display
Decorative cabinet object or display piece, also suitable as a precious box for jewellery or small valuables. Its presence provides a strong visual focal point in both classic and eclectic interiors.
