This engraving, by Frédéric Lignon (1781-1833), a color aquatint of 1815 engraving, depicts the Prince Impérial at age 3-4, in Hussar uniform.
It played a rather important communication role when the Emperor proposed his son as his successor before abdication.
Dimensions: 19cm x 27cm, bowl: 24cm x 17cm.
Good condition, thick paper a little darkened, (but especially on the reverse...!).
