Charles X-style Bureau Plat Desk, France, 19th Century
Large walnut and burl veneered desk, standing on four tapered legs with brass bases and capitals, connected by an elongated X-shaped crossbar. Four lockable drawers provide ample storage space. The right-hand drawer conceals an additional lockable interior compartment. The top is covered with green leather edged in gold. The back is adorned with large bronze fittings representing two mirrored figures of Renommée. Professionally restored and polished.
