Marquetry Chest Of Drawers, Transition Louis XV - Louis XVI, 18th C.
A small Louis XV - Louis XVI Transition period chest of drawers, dating from the 18th century.
It opens with three drawers on the front and features a very elegant marquetry decoration of wood friezes, arranged in chevrons and framed with fillets, both on the front and on the sides, testifying to meticulous and refined workmanship.
The jambs are embellished with vertical inlaid reserves, bringing rhythm to the whole.It rests on four curved legs finished with bronze sabots.
The top is topped with a beautiful gray veined marble (Sainte-Anne type), molded in beak-of-corbine.
The proportions are particularly harmonious, offering a piece of furniture that is both decorative and easy to integrate into a classic or contemporary interior.
Late 18th century work, in the Transition taste, marking the transition between the curved forms of Louis XV and the rigor of Louis XVI.
