Very bright view of an alley with Fort Saint-André in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon.
Photos 7 and 8 show a 1941 postcard that exactly represents this alley with the cypress tree in its very characteristic shape. Barely readable inscription on the back of the canvas indicating the location of the view.
Pierre Henri Gabriel Pailler, born on June 3, 1876, in Poitiers (Vienne) and died on January 20, 1954, in Triel-sur-Seine (Yvelines), was a French painter.
