Superb, large 20th century oil painting by Lilly Verea Schneider depicting a view of granville, "le roc". Lilly Verea was a Roman-born painter active in the 20th century. Known for her marine paintings and illustrations, she was the wife of Édouard Schneider. She produced a portrait for a book ("Europolis", 1939) and her works appear on the art market, notably on artprice.
As for this painting, in the foreground is the shore with the rocks, and in the background appears the rock, the well-known granville rock. Superb work of light and bright, luminous colors. The soft tones reveal civilization in the background, blending with the sky. A quality work in very good condition, signed lower right and presented in a blackened wooden frame.
