American Whalebone Busk Mid-19th Century
Whale bone busc engraved from one side.
From top to bottom: a decoration of flowers and plants with a star in the center, the American eagle with the
flag and whalebone spurs, a horizontal geometric decoration, a naval anchor with a
shield with American decoration, a second horizontal geometric decoration, an American
three-masted ship at sea, a third horizontal geometric and in the lower part a lozenge
encircled with checkerboard decoration.
The upper part of the busk is poly-lobed.
