Empire Style Mahogany Psyche Dressing Table - 19th Century
Empire-style mahogany psyche dressing table - 19th century
Elegant Empire-style mahogany and mahogany veneer psyche dressing table, dating from the 19th century. It is distinguished by its central mirror framed by two turned columns, embellished with gilded bronze rings, typical of the decorative vocabulary of this period.
The slightly triangular pediment harmoniously surmounts the whole, bringing a beautiful verticality to the piece. The rectangular base houses a drawer on the front, adorned with a brass knob, offering discreet storage space.
Veneer of very fine quality, with warm veining and a well-preserved original patina. The antique mirror shows some traces of the passage of time, adding to the overall charm.
Furniture that is both decorative and functional, ideal in a bedroom, hallway or as an object of curiosity in a classic or eclectic interior.
