Antique precision balance under mahogany globe - Maison Becker, Brussels - early 20th century

Rare and elegant laboratory precision balance, presented under its original mahogany and glass vitrine, resting on a pedestal with drawer.

The instrument, finely crafted in brass and steel, is signed "Anc. Éts Becker S.A. - Bruxelles", a firm renowned for its high-quality scientific instruments at the turn of the 20th century.

The central beam balance is equipped with two suspended plates and a highly sensitive adjustment system. It is protected by a glass cage to avoid any external disturbance during weighing, a characteristic feature of laboratory balances.

The wooden base features a drawer designed to hold weights and accessories (not guaranteed complete).
Presence of an old electrical system (probably a later addition) for lighting or technical use.

Very handsome object blending scientific and decorative aesthetics, ideal for a cabinet of curiosities, a desk or a collection of antique instruments.
