Mid-19th Century Small Florentine Commesso
Exquisite small Florentine "commesso" vase,
featuring various semiprecious stones set in black Belgian marble. The work is
also housed in a hand-carved and gilded wooden frame, currently being restored,
and a passe-partout with faux malachite fabric. The vase depicts a flowering
branch with a sparrow adorned with stones of various colors, which stand out
against the black marble. This is a work of great taste and refinement, capable
of adding a touch of class and elegance to any room. Florentine manufacture from
the mid-19th century, contemporary with frame.
