A charming, richly ornamented walnut display cabinet resting on tapered legs and adorned with gilt bronze mounts. It features an elegant pediment surmounted by an oval medallion containing a miniature woman, adding a refined and decorative touch. The apron is highlighted with finely chased bronze friezes, while the openwork structure houses vertical compartments, likely intended for sheet music or documents. The top is fitted with a beveled glass panel, adding elegance and refinement to the whole. The sides are decorated with lyre-shaped motifs, recalling the cabinet's musical purpose. The back is lined with red fabric. The original maker's label is present on the back: A. Chevrie, manufacturer of period furniture and fine cabinetmaking in Paris, a guarantee of quality and authenticity. French work from the late 19th century, Napoleon III period.
