Marble Fountain Mask, Italy, Naples, 18th Century
A beautiful white marble mask or fountain spout, depicting a man with an open mouth, wearing a cap typical of Neapolitan styles (a good example can be found in François Rude's "Neapolitan Fisherman"). Italian work from the 18th century, probably Naples. A lovely object with its original patina, elegantly mounted on a marble base.
