Artist: Fernand Fortuné Truffaut
This watercolor dates from the early 20th century and was painted by Fernand Fortuné Truffaut. The title on the back reads "Trouville, Boats on the Touques River." Some damp stains are visible on the left (see photos). It is signed in the lower left corner and bears a plaque on the frame. Fernand Fortuné Truffaut was born in Trouville in 1866 and died in 1955. He studied at the Rouen School of Fine Arts and was a student and assistant of Marcel Jambon and Auguste Rubé. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1912 onwards.
