Sewing Box In Walnut Inlaid With A Rosette
This charming 19th-century sewing box, with its simple, folk-art-like decoration, is nonetheless of very refined craftsmanship. Made of beautifully patinated, light-colored walnut, its lid is adorned with a rosewood marquetry border and, in its center, a lovely two-tone rosette in rosewood. Inside, a tray with several compartments is simply placed on top, crafted from a lighter wood. The uprights are also decorated with marquetry at the four corners. It retains its original key and lock. It is in very good condition.
