Austremoine Fougerel (18th century) Project for a sculpture: Angels bearing a crown, sculptor's drawing dated 1760, ink and wash, 34 x 22 cm, signed "Aostremoine Fourgerel sculpteur" and dated 1760 at the bottom.
Several annotations in the artist's hand: "Drawn by me..." "Figure or niche support for a master on a tabernacle" Mr. Charma (?) lawyer in the street of...". On the reverse, two sanguine and pencil sketches and annotations.
Austremoine Fougerel was a sculptor active in Auvergne around 1750-1770, died in 1784. A beautiful carved wooden lectern in the shape of an eagle by him is known, listed as a Historical Monument, preserved in the church of Varennes-sur-Morge in the Puy-de-Dôme.
