A Japanese Cloisonné Vase With Polychrome Irises On A Midnight Blue Ground
A Japanese cloisonné vase in polychrome enamels with silver wires, decorated with irises on a midnight blue ground. The globular body features a continuous composition of irises in shades of purple, light blue, pink, and white. The flowers alternate with long leaves, rendered in varying tones of green, rising vertically and following the curvature of the form. The deep blue background enhances the floral decoration, outlined by fine silver wires that precisely define flowers and leaves. The base and rim are finished with metal mounts.
