Tripod "Jue" cup, China, Song-Yuan period.
The design is based on the form of Jue ewers from the Shang dynasty.
Resting on three blade-shaped feet, the body is decorated with archaic taotie masks and archaic friezes.
One handle is adorned with a bovine head on one side.
An inscription is visible engraved in the bronze beneath the body.
Bronze with a black patina oxidized to green.
Dimensions: 15 x 16 x 7 cm.
