Empire-style Secretaire
Elegant, low-ceilinged secretaire veneered in mahogany and embellished with refined mercury-gilt bronze appliqués. Light-colored wood interior, crafted by French craftsmen from the First Empire period.
The front design is framed by two beautiful, tall columns with finely chased gilt bronze bases and capitals, a large drop-leaf (upper part) and two doors (lower part). It follows the typical design of this type of furniture, created during the Napoleonic era, known as a secretaire. The façade is clearly defined by the beautiful aesthetic of the mahogany, which lends a luminous shine to the entire piece, further enhanced by the excellent restoration carried out by our team of restorers using the traditional shellac and buffer process.
