Large 19th Century Gilt Bronze And Crystal Girandole
Large gilt and chased bronze chandelier with 10 lights arranged on four levels. The tripod base features a central head of a king (Saint Louis) flanked by fantastical animals, and lion's paw feet. The lower section is made of fluted gilt bronze and surmounted by molded crystal stems. The candle holders are fitted with glass cups decorated with Greek key patterns. The chandelier is richly ornamented with garlands of octagons, various pendants, cut almonds, prisms, etc. Made in the second half of the 19th century. Cleaned and rewired.
